BMRC researchers have worked on a variety of projects that involve content and technology development. Links to a number of content projects are included below. Some more recent technology projects include:

1. Open Mash Toolkit - an open source streaming media toolkit. Tools written using the toolkit include the Internet Mbone tools (e.g., vat, vic, nsdr, etc.) and numerous applications to support webcasting and distributed collaboration. Open Mash applications run on Unix, Windows, and are currently being ported to the Macintosh (OS-X).
2. RTPtv - a production quality audio/video streaming system that uses a low-cost Motion JPEG encoding board on Linux. The system can produce low-latency, 60 field/second CCIR 601 video streams and synchronized high-quality stereo audio streams.
3. INDIVA - a middleware package and API library for simplifying the development of software to control and automate the use of audio/video resources, media streams and sessions, and Mbone conferences.
4. Berkeley Lecture Browser - a package for building web titles with synchronized streaming audio/video and slides. The Lecture Browser also supports random positioning and keyword search within a database of titles. It has been used for seminars and classes at Berkeley.
